Get Your Sweet Tooth Ready For Pawling Chocolate Festival

PAWLING, N.Y. -- A chocolate-eating event that draws 650 people annually paves the way for local organizations to serve Pawling's youth.

The Rotary Club of Pawling's third annual Chocolate Festival is Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Lathrop Center.

A winning experience for anyone who enjoys chocolate, numerous vendors will be selling an array of merchandise, with samples at each station.

The initiative supports grants for organizations and initiatives in Pawling that serve local youngsters and their families.

These include The Smith Johnson Scout Cabin; The Pawling Resource Center and their family outreach programs; The Pawling Free library; Pawling Youth Development; The Interact Club; Pawling Public Radio's internship and apprenticeship programs; and the Pawling Fire Department for its unstinting protection of Pawling's children and families.

Additional programs include the third grade Dictionary Project, underwriting two annual College Tours for High School Juniors and Seniors, and the Resource Center's adopt a family program at holiday time. 

In addition, the money raised assists with annual donations to Rotary's Charitable Foundation which supports the worldwide eradication of polio and to Shelter Box, which provides temporary shelter to families that have been displaced due to natural and man-made global disasters.

The festival runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Lathrop Center at Lake Side Park in Pawling.
